Why King Charles is powerless to strip Meghan Markle and Prince Harry of their royal title

It has been five years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Stepped back from their royal responsibilities, however, they continue to hold onto their royal titles.

Even though they can no longer use the titles Her Royal Highness and His Royal Highness, which was decided in 2020, they still retain their status as Prince and Princess of Sussex .

The Sussex title was a personal present from Queen Elizabeth II on their wedding day, and even though the couple has occasionally criticized the royal family, there hasn’t been an effort by the monarchy to revoke this title.

  • The Godfather enthusiasts were astonished when they discovered how Marlon Brando achieved his iconic appearance.
  • Within the harsh conflict between John Wayne and James Caan during the filming of El Dorado.

However, some fans of the Royals have demanded its removal.

Nevertheless, King Charles cannot merely remove the title since it was personally bestowed upon him by his deceased mother and revoking it would necessitate an Act of Parliament.

A royal expert states that since Harry was born a prince, he would retain his right to the princely title regardless of whether the titles associated with Sussex are removed.

Ingrid Seward, who serves as the Editor-in-Chief at Majesty Magazine, shared with The Royal Beat her thoughts on this matter: “I believe nothing significant will change regarding these titles since even without them, Harry remains a prince due to his royal lineage. As for Meghan, she might become known as Princess Henry rather than the Duchess of Sussex; however, I suspect that could cause some confusion among Americans.”

Perhaps it’s wisest simply to let it be since it appears unfriendly and unwarranted.

The expert commented: "The (late) Queen bestowed upon them their titles; let them retain these designations — after all, they will still be known as 'H and M.'"

The best approach seems to be leaving them alone, ignoring them, and allowing them to proceed independently—this is precisely what the Palace and the Royal Family are opting for.
