Following their admission that they "haven't had that conversation yet," referring to the strategy for John Wick 5 Stahelski mentioned they have "a concept."

"Ideas like this consume a significant amount of time. You dedicate about three years of your life from beginning to end," Stahelski explained. Collider .

He also explained that the anime and spin-off focused on Donnie Yen's Caine are the "priority," and dove even deeper into his mindset and how he's approaching John Wick 5 .

"Do you want another John Wick 4 or do you want a John Wick 5 ?" Stahelski said. "If you want a John Wick 5 , you're going to have to sit back a little bit and you have to let me and Keanu grow as human beings, experience some new s*** and experiment with different styles, go to different places."

"You know, I've been traveling all over the world for almost a year and a half now, trying to come up with other places I love and things to do, and meeting people that I'm modeling characters after. If you want a new movie, if you want something fresh, you got to let us go experience fresh s***, and that’s how we build the movies."

It's a refreshing take from the director. While fans would love to have at least a ball-park estimate of when they can expect John Wick 5 , they should also be enthusiastic about the potential outcomes of concentrating on producing something "new."

Plenty is going on in the John Wick universe, including the upcoming release of the spin-off film Ballerina , starring Ana de Armas, which is set to hit theatres on June 6, 2025.
